We beheld remarkable Leviathan ascend-like a phoenix come from caliginous seas
stood strong and tall for all to see, symbol of strength and unity,
inaccessible scales his presumptuous pride, flaring frenzied nostrils glowered,
glared like gigantic torch on Miss Liberty-made each of us his oh so loyal bride.
An indulgent Babel to adore, one we really should abhor
When did it happen? What did we think?
swapped our motto In God We Trust-made it a byword and a stink
luggage laden with lubricity and lust
sold our soul to the two-headed beast to plunder and pillage
Pandora’s box it released-greed, carnage, corruption
a grasping for pleasure, power and cash, his job to seduce and devour
land of peace and opportunity-unsuspecting innocents
this mad monster from the sea.
Why a country so complacent?-Too late, too late vigilant
Oblivious to apocalyptic peril
till a sharp two-edged sword
pierced him through the breast for all to see
he fell down wounded into a crimson sea.
